🟡Zurich Cantonal Bank (ZKB), the fourth-largest bank in Switzerland, announced the launch of cryptocurrency services on September 4. As part of the new features on ZKB’s eBanking and ZKB Mobile Banking platforms, clients can now trade and store Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). To ensure secure transactions, the bank has partnered with Crypto Finance AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group.
🟡Alexandra Skriba mentioned that clients do not need to create their own wallets or worry about private keys, as the bank fully handles all transactions. ZKB is also developing solutions for other Swiss banks, starting with Thurgauer Kantonalbank.
🟡ZKB’s entry into the cryptocurrency sector is part of its strategy to implement blockchain technologies, including its previous issuance of digital bonds. Swiss financial institutions are actively expanding crypto services, which increases the accessibility of these offerings for the country’s population.
