Mobile Threads apps released for iOS and Android

Meta* has launched the new social media platform Threads in the Google Play and App Store — a text-based messaging service described as a direct alternative to Twitter.

The Threads social network was created by Meta*, which also owns Instagram*, establishing a connection between users’ accounts on both platforms. For instance, users can log in to Threads using their Instagram* account and transfer their profile description and followers. Once registered on Threads, a link to the new social network will automatically appear in the user’s Instagram* account.

Threads users can create short text posts (up to 500 characters), add videos (up to 5 minutes long) and images, as well as comment, like, and repost content. Essentially, it offers the same features as Twitter.
