Yandex.Taxi is launching a full-scale car leasing company for its partner taxi fleets, as reported by RBC citing a company representative. The aggregator will offer taxi fleets up to 10,000 cars of both foreign and domestic brands for lease.
The leasing services will be provided by “Fleet LLC,” a subsidiary established by Yandex in mid-2021. In 2022, the company obtained all necessary regulatory approvals, including registration with Rosfinmonitoring.
Fleet LLC conducted several pilot transactions last year, leasing about 1,000 cars to taxi fleets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod. Based on the results, Yandex.Taxi decided to expand the number of vehicles available to taxi fleets to 10,000.
The company did not specify which car brands will be offered to partners, but it is known that models available in the country from Russian and Chinese manufacturers will be provided. This year, Yandex plans to focus on selecting reliable and easy-to-service cars in the “economy” segment for its leasing program.
According to a Yandex.Taxi representative, Fleet will purchase vehicles from manufacturers’ dealers and then lease them to taxi fleets based on specific requests.
