The jersey of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who collapsed on the field during a football game and suffered cardiac arrest, has become the most sought-after item on the Fanatics website.
“Damar’s jersey remains the top seller among all athletes across all sports on Fanatics,” a Fanatics spokesperson stated.
The sports merchandise and collectibles company announced that it will donate all proceeds from jersey sales to Hamlin’s Chasing M’s Foundation.
Donations have also poured into Hamlin’s GoFundMe charity, which he established in 2020 to organize toy drives for children. Hamlin stated: “As I embarked on my NFL journey, I never forgot where I came from. I intend to use my foundation to make a positive impact on the community that raised me. I created the Chasing M’s Foundation as a platform to carry out this mission.”
The fundraiser surpassed $74,000 within an hour of Hamlin’s collapse and has since grown to over $7.7 million.
“Fans are showing incredible love and support for Damar Hamlin by purchasing his jersey,” Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin tweeted on January 3. “Please get well soon, Damar.”
