The messaging service owned by Meta continues to add new features. The latest update to the WhatsApp beta for PC allows users to report statuses containing inappropriate, offensive, or any other type of content that violates WhatsApp’s policies.
When users report a WhatsApp status, the service’s team reviews it to determine if it truly violates WhatsApp’s policy. This feature is expected to be available on Android and iOS devices in the coming days as well.
The feature becomes available as soon as a conversation starts and the message reporting option is enabled, after which WhatsApp gains access to the last five messages in the chat. It is important to note that this feature does not violate end-to-end encryption in WhatsApp, as only the five messages, which are also fully encrypted, will be shared.
Currently, there is no official confirmation on when this feature will be permanently available to WhatsApp PC users. However, since the feature is already available to beta users, it is expected to be rolled out in early 2023.
If you’re interested in testing this feature, you can sign up for the WhatsApp beta testing program and get the latest beta version of WhatsApp for PC. Similarly, you can join the beta testing program for all the latest WhatsApp features on Android and iOS devices.
