Former U.S. President Donald Trump Sells NFT Collectible Cards

A collection of NFT trading cards featuring former U.S. President Donald Trump in superhero costumes, astronaut outfits, NASCAR driver gear, and more, was sold out on OpenSea (a marketplace for non-fungible tokens). The collection consisted of 45,000 cards, each priced at $99.

Last month, Donald Trump filed his third application to run for president in the White House, announcing that he would make a “big announcement.” However, contrary to expectations, it turned out to be a promotional video for the NFT collection on the Truth Social platform. The video featured an animated version of the former president in front of Trump Tower in New York, tearing off his shirt to reveal a superhero costume with the letter “T” on his chest, while laser beams shot from his eyes. Trump claimed that the NFT images from his collection would make the perfect Christmas gift.

The announcement received criticism and mockery, including from Republicans.
