🌀At the recent ETHBerlin event, Vitalik Buterin expressed his regret over Ethereum’s initial architectural choices and the transition to the Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism. He argued that if Ethereum had implemented PoS earlier, it could have helped preserve many of the world’s trees and made the project more environmentally friendly and efficient.
🌀Buterin also highlighted a key distinction between Ethereum and Bitcoin, stating that while Bitcoin has a clear narrative — it is digital gold — the purpose and function of Ethereum are less understood by many. He emphasized that developers should have prioritized simplifying the process of writing smart contracts with fewer lines of code. This approach would make it easier for people to understand and verify the logic and behavior of these contracts.
