Bitcoin Drops to $75,463 as Chip Rout Sets Off $1.08B in Liquidations

Bitcoin traded below $76,000 through Friday morning after a session that took it as low as $75,463, its weakest print in weeks. The fall came with the steepest day for US technology stocks since April 2025: the Nasdaq Composite closed down 5.5% and the Philadelphia semiconductor index lost about 12%. Crypto futures worth roughly $1.08 billion were liquidated over the 24 hours to Thursday, almost nine-tenths of them long bets. US spot bitcoin funds took $430 million out on the same day. Ether fell harder than bitcoin did.

Four outlets, four prices

The quotes do not line up. KuCoin's daily report, stamped at 00:00 UTC, has bitcoin at $76,087.90 and down 5.49%. crypto.news, writing at 05:47 UTC, has $75,388 and down 6.3%. CoinGape, at 10:19 UTC, has $75,551 and 6.09%. CoinDesk's number, carried by CoinCentral, is 5.2% over 24 hours. Some of that gap is the hours between the stamps. The rest is method: each outlet measures its own 24-hour window, and we could not establish one reference price for Thursday's move. The $75,463 low is the one figure two accounts share, and even there the framing splits. CoinCentral calls it the lowest since 16 September; CoinGape calls it the lowest since the start of this month. Neither claim is corroborated.

What got liquidated

CoinGlass data carried by two outlets puts Thursday's liquidations at $1.08 billion, with $954.38 million of that in long positions against $127.30 million in shorts. Bitcoin accounted for $280.65 million and ether for $174.86 million. KuCoin gives $1.09 billion and names no provider. CoinGape runs the clock further and reaches close to $1.25 billion by early Friday, $1.11 billion of it long. Those are two windows, not two counts of the same one. Cointelegraph put nearly $500 million in the first hour of US trading. Open interest went the same way. Aggregate bitcoin futures interest slipped under $26 billion from $28 billion earlier in Thursday's session, on a CoinGlass reading relayed through CoinDesk and printed by one outlet.

The funds, and which day the numbers belong to

Thursday's $430 million of net outflows from US spot bitcoin ETFs comes from SoSoValue. Fidelity's FBTC led it at roughly $200 million on Farside's count, and BlackRock's IBIT shed another $105 million, a fifth consecutive session of withdrawals and more than $1 billion since 30 October. Ether funds lost about $100 million. Cointelegraph's page gives $530 million for the two groups together while the title it circulated gives $430 million for bitcoin alone. One story, two totals. Year-to-date outflows for the bitcoin funds stand near $510 million, a figure the account prints without a provider. One date problem is worth stating plainly: crypto.news labels an FBTC inflow of $236.7 million and an IBIT outflow of $201.2 million as 5 November data, while Cointelegraph dates that FBTC inflow to Wednesday. Our own Thursday story carried the $74.6 million inflow day with IBIT shedding $201 million, which lines up with Wednesday. The labels do not reconcile.

Where the next lines are drawn

Analysts quoted across the accounts put support at $75,000 and then $73,000. Kitco's technical read on 4 November named $75,001 as a Fibonacci retracement level, with the 200-day moving average near $73,188 and the 30-day near $81,319. Jasper De Maere of Wintermute gave $73,000 and $68,000 as the levels below.

"Let's see where we land in the short term here; medium term still glass half full," said Jasper De Maere of Wintermute.

Ether changed hands at about $2,220 on two accounts and $2,238 on KuCoin's midnight table, down between 7.7% and 8.3% depending on which window is used. XRP sat at $1.20 with falls quoted from 5.5% to 10.28%, the widest spread in the set. Gold rose 0.6% to $4,094 an ounce in the same session, and Coinbase and Strategy shares each lost around 10%. Bitcoin sat at $76,455 on Tuesday, when the funds shed $398.6 million in a session, so the level is not new even if the speed is. US nonfarm payrolls were due on Friday, and the reclaim level is unsettled too: KuCoin writes $78,000, two other accounts write $80,000.
