Bitcoin ETFs Return to Inflow at $74.6M as IBIT Sheds $201M

US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds took in a net $74.6 million on 4 November, their first positive day since 29 October. The print ends a three-session run of withdrawals worth about $1.16 billion. It was not a broad bid. Fidelity's FBTC drew $236.7 million while BlackRock's IBIT gave up $201.2 million, and the day's total is what is left once those two cancel. Bitcoin traded at $80,355 by 10:09 UTC on Thursday, up 2.58% over 24 hours on CoinGecko's count.

Two funds pulling opposite ways

The fund-level detail is consistent across four accounts and it is lopsided. ARK and 21Shares' ARKB added $19.9 million, Bitwise's BITB $15.2 million, and Invesco Galaxy's BTCO $4.0 million in the two accounts that break it out that far. Grayscale's GBTC and Morgan Stanley's MSBT recorded nothing. Those five funds already net to the day's figure, which is where Gate News's tally stops adding up: it carries the same per-fund numbers, then puts "other ETF products" at $162.1 million of net outflows, a line that cannot sit inside a $74.6 million inflow. Gate gives no explanation and no other outlet checked reports a residual. Both readings are here because neither can be dismissed.

Nobody publishes the number they are all quoting

Every account carrying the $74.6 million credits Farside Investors. Gate News credits CoinGlass. Farside's own page did not load for this desk on Thursday, so the figure stands here as four outlets report it, not as a primary reading. TFTC's November flows page had not been updated past 3 November at the time of writing and carries no 4 November row. It does confirm the two sessions before: 2 November at $398.6 million out, 3 November at $115.6 million out, matching the Farside-sourced accounts. This desk covered that $115.6 million day on Wednesday.

Whose withdrawals the run was is contested. The Cryptonomist attributes $643.2 million, $398.6 million and $115.6 million to IBIT alone, and puts the fund's streak at four sessions and $935 million cumulative. TFTC has the same three dates as whole-market totals, with IBIT at $405.3 million out on 2 November and $95.0 million out on 3 November. Gate News offers a third frame, $922.4 million out of IBIT across 29 October to 4 November. The windows differ and so do the columns, and we could not establish which reading of the IBIT line is right. Cointelegraph, working from SoSoValue instead of Farside, put the Friday-to-Tuesday run at $1.16 billion and asked Bitwise what it meant.

"I do think it's related to a short-term risk-off environment rather than a structural change in institutional sentiment," Andre Dragosch, Bitwise's head of research, told Cointelegraph on 4 November.

The liquidation count has two versions too

Both liquidation figures in circulation on Thursday come from CoinGlass and they do not reconcile. BlockchainReporter, reading the dashboard at 07:55 UTC, gives a 24-hour total of $741.16 million, of which $493.58 million was short positions and $247.58 million long. Blockonomi, citing the same provider, has about $378 million of shorts cleared inside a single hour out of nearly $747 million in total, with no window attached to the total and no long-side split. One is a day. The other is an hour nested inside a period nobody states. Both accounts agree on the short-heavy direction, and it followed a week in which a $6.3 billion hot-wallet theft started the selling.

What the rate path does to the bid

Goldman Sachs pushed its Federal Reserve forecast back a quarter, to cuts in December 2026 and March 2027, and left its terminal range at 3% to 3.25%. Its economist David Mericle said a cut before year-end would need both softer inflation data and further weakening in the labour market. Bank of America went further on one account, moving its cuts into the third quarter of 2027, a detail that appears in a single outlet. Whether Wednesday's print is a turn or a pause has no answer in the data yet. One positive session against three negative ones still leaves the month net negative, and the next Farside update is the first place that will show.
