Spot Bitcoin ETF Outflows Slow to $115.6M as BTC Retakes $78,000

US spot bitcoin ETFs shed $115.6 million on 3 November, a third consecutive day of net withdrawals and much the smallest of the three. Together those sessions come to about $1.16 billion. The price went the other way the next day. Bitcoin traded back above $78,000 through the UTC morning of 4 November, after dipping under $76,000 earlier in the week. Funds and price have not pointed the same way since Friday.

A run that keeps getting smaller

The sequence began on 30 October with $643.3 million out in one session, which CryptoTicker called the largest single-day withdrawal since late June. Monday 2 November took another $398.6 million, with BlackRock's IBIT accounting for $405.3 million of that on its own. Tuesday's figure is roughly a sixth of the first day's. BlockchainReporter, working from Farside Investors data, totals the three sessions at $1,157.4 million. Bitcoin.com, working from SoSoValue, publishes no three-day sum and instead describes 30 October and 2 November together as over $1 billion combined. The two statements do not contradict each other. They are also not the same statement.

Two funds out, three funds in

Tuesday's withdrawal was concentrated. IBIT gave up $95.0 million and Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust $52.6 million, while Bitwise's BITB took in $21.9 million, Fidelity's FBTC $6.8 million and Morgan Stanley's MSBT $3.3 million. Net assets across the US spot funds stand at about $99.2 billion on both readings. The place the two data providers come apart is 30 October. Farside has FBTC down $201.0 million that day; SoSoValue has it down $201.4 million. One fund, one session, two figures that do not reconcile. Beyond the bitcoin products, Bitcoin.com's tally alone records Grayscale's Zcash fund down $3.58 million and Bitwise's NEAR fund down $3.60 million on the same day, with Solana and XRP ETFs flat. No other outlet read here breaks those out.

Ether funds are on a longer run

Spot ether ETFs lost $85.3 million on 3 November, their seventh straight negative session. BlackRock's ETHA carried $74.4 million of it. Altcoin Buzz puts the seven days at about $656.4 million; BlockchainReporter puts the same window, 26 October through 3 November, at about $656 million. Neither shows its session-by-session arithmetic beyond the final three days, so the gap between them stays open. Ether itself traded near $2,319 on Wednesday by BlockchainReporter's count and about $2,323 by Altcoin Buzz's, up between 1.4 and 2.4 percent depending on the snapshot.

The low, and how old it was

Bitcoin's trough this week is reported two ways. Altcoin Buzz has it at about $75,600 and CryptoTicker at about $75,700, each on its own authority. How unusual that level was is less settled. Cryptonews.com's headline called it a six-week low; Cointelegraph's called it a seven-week low. Only those headlines were read at this desk, and we could not establish which count is correct. Liquidations across the same 24 hours come in at $461.8 million on BlockchainReporter's reading of CoinGlass data, with long positions at 57.6 percent of the total, and at about $469 million on Altcoin Buzz's. Market capitalization sat near $1.57 trillion on CoinGecko figures, which one outlet of the four carried.

Wednesday's flow data had not been published when this was written. A fourth negative session, or a first positive one, lands in Thursday's numbers.
