How to Fix Failed Solana Transactions

There is no way to repair a failed Solana transaction itself: it is finished, and your balances never changed. Fixing failed Solana transactions means finding out why the last one failed and changing the single setting behind it before you send again. That takes about two minutes, and the error message on the explorer does most of the work for you.

Start with the error, not the retry

Pressing Try Again without changing anything usually produces the same failure and another small fee. Copy the transaction signature from your wallet's history instead and open it in Solscan, then read the Result line. Treat it like a warning light on a car dashboard: the useful move is to see which light is on, not to keep turning the key.

The fix for each cause

• Insufficient funds. Top up SOL. Even a wallet full of tokens needs SOL for fees, and a new token account sets aside roughly 0.002 SOL of its own.
• Slippage exceeded. Raise the slippage tolerance a little on Jupiter or in your wallet's swap screen, or trade a smaller amount. Raising it a long way invites a bad price, so move it in small steps.
• Out of compute budget. Refresh the quote so the app estimates again, or split one large swap into two smaller ones.
• Nothing obvious, during congestion. Increase the priority fee by one notch - most wallets offer a fast or turbo setting that does exactly this.

When the fix is to wait

If a transaction sits as pending and then vanishes, it was never processed at all. That is a drop rather than a failure, and it cost you nothing. Trying again in a few minutes, or with a higher priority fee, is the whole answer. Firing the same transaction off five times during a busy spell only multiplies the fees you pay for the ones that do land.

Before any retry, refresh the page so the quote is current, because stale numbers cause a surprising share of repeat failures.
