Developer of LockBit Arrested

🔴The United States has charged Rostislav Panev, a 51-year-old dual citizen of Russia and Israel, with collaborating with the hacker group LockBit. Allegedly, since January 2022, Panev has been developing software used in attacks on major companies such as Boeing and Royal Mail, earning cryptocurrency as payment. Israeli authorities have detained Panev, and the U.S. is seeking his extradition.

🔴Attorney Sharon Nahari claims that Panev merely fulfilled orders via Telegram without being aware of their criminal nature.

🔴It’s worth noting that in February 2023, the LockBit infrastructure was dismantled, dealing a significant blow to the group.
