Cryptocurrencies Under Trump’s Wing

🟣Donald Trump, the upcoming U.S. president, is actively developing plans to support the cryptocurrency industry. One of his first moves may involve replacing the current head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Gary Gensler, who has a negative stance on cryptocurrencies.

🟣The billionaire has already received approval from key figures in the crypto community. Experts at CoinDesk have indicated that the SEC chair could be replaced either before or immediately after Trump’s inauguration, scheduled for January 20. If Gensler does not step down voluntarily, Trump may appoint an interim chair right away.

🟣It is expected that Gensler’s replacement will ease regulatory pressure on cryptocurrency companies. Prices of certain crypto assets have already started to rise amid expectations of a more lenient SEC policy under new leadership.
