Threat to Bitcoin

🟡Casa’s founder, Jameson Lopp, has warned about a potential attack targeting the slow validation of blocks in the Bitcoin network. This could give an advantage to the attacking miner and reduce the network’s throughput. However, professional miners might continue mining coins by verifying only the block headers.

🟡The essence of the attack lies in creating blocks that are too complex to validate, forcing other miners to spend more resources and time on verification. This creates a temporary delay, allowing the attacker to gain an advantage over the rest of the network.
