Bitcoin Vulnerability: A Threat to the Blockchain Ecosystem

🟡 Recently, Bitcoin developers reported a vulnerability in the software affecting around 13% of nodes worldwide. The CVE-2024-35202 code error allows attackers to trigger a failure in the operation of nodes processing transaction messages. The vulnerability is related to the use of shortened transaction identifiers and could lead to conflicts and system crashes.

🟡 Although the issue was fixed in version 25.0, many nodes are still not updated, leaving them vulnerable. Developers urge operators to update their software to version 28.0 immediately.
