🟤Nassim Taleb, author of the bestselling book The Black Swan, stated that during the decline of both the stock and cryptocurrency markets, Bitcoin demonstrated an insufficient ability to protect investments. In an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box, he said that Bitcoin does not live up to its reputation as a reserve asset and is not a hedge against asset loss.
🟤According to Taleb, the systemic crisis affected all asset classes: the S&P 500 index fell by more than 5%, and Japan’s Nikkei plunged by approximately 12%. However, according to CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin was hit hardest, with its value dropping by more than 18% in a single day. Compared to gold, Bitcoin also performed worse, as it is an extremely speculative asset.
