US Government Sells Part of Seized Bitcoin

🟡The US government transferred 29,800 BTC, linked to the Silk Road website, to an unmarked address. This led to a further drop in the already declining Bitcoin prices. After the transfer, the price of Bitcoin fell below $67,000, continuing its drop from the session’s high of $70,000.

🟡This move by the government followed Donald Trump’s promise to create a “strategic national Bitcoin reserve” if elected. According to Arkham data, before the transfer, the US government had seized Bitcoin worth $12 billion.
