Solana ETFs Break a 14-Week Inflow Run as Ether Funds Shed $542M

A 14-week run of inflows into US spot Solana exchange-traded funds stopped last week. The group posted net outflows of $24.8 million over the five sessions to 9 October, on The Block's reading of SoSoValue data published midday Saturday. Spot ether funds had the heavier week: $542.1 million out, their worst since January, and a ninth straight day of redemptions to close it. Spot bitcoin ETFs lost $681.1 million. About $1.25 billion left the three categories in five sessions.

The streak that ended

Solana funds had taken money every week for 14 weeks, a record for the group, after an opening 13-week run from their October 2025 launch ran out in late January. Two weeks ago they pulled in $188.2 million, their best week yet. Then money left in all five sessions, which The Block records as the longest daily outflow streak these funds have had; the previous was three days. Monday's $9.2 million was the largest of them. Bitwise's BSOL carried about 84% of the week at $20.9 million out, its heaviest weekly figure on record against $17.0 million in the week ending 31 July. Morgan Stanley's MSOL and Invesco's QSOL were the only two funds taking money in, $2.0 million between them. Group net assets fell to $1.73 billion from $1.90 billion, two weeks after a $1.96 billion peak.

How rare it was depends on who is counting

The Block calls it the largest weekly outflow since launch, roughly three times a prior record of $8.9 million set in the week ending 6 February, and names the week ending 26 June as the last negative one before this. Crypto Briefing, filing just after midnight UTC on Sunday, calls it the first outflows since launch. Those two statements cannot both be right, and neither outlet addresses the other. TokenPost gives the Solana figure as $25 million and the ether figure as $542.2 million against The Block's $542.1 million. No account read here states a cut-off time, so we could not establish which provider's close the others are measured against.

Nine days on the ether side

Ether funds have not had an inflow day since 28 September, when $17.1 million came in. The nine sessions since have drawn $697.2 million out, a run that ties a 17-30 June stretch as the third-longest on record; 17 days across May and June remain the worst, at about $900.1 million. Tuesday did most of the damage at $201.9 million, all of it from BlackRock's ETHA and timed with that fund's 1-for-3 reverse share split. ETHA lost $477.0 million across the week, about 88% of the category, and Grayscale's ETHE $31.9 million. Net assets for the group fell 10% to $15.71 billion, and the 2026 inflow total is down to $931.8 million from $1.47 billion a week earlier.

What the two accounts do with volume does not line up. The Block has weekly ether ETF trading volume rising to $5.18 billion from $3.57 billion. Crypto Briefing has ether volume down 61% to $7.2 billion. Neither says which volume it means, and the two do not reconcile. The direction alone is opposite.

Friday was the one green session

Bitcoin funds broke a three-week inflow run with their worst week since late June. Wednesday's $487.1 million accounted for most of it, a session covered here when the month's accumulated inflows were wiped out on a smaller provider figure. Friday turned, barely, with $21.1 million in. The year's bitcoin ETF inflow total now reads $494.1 million against $1.18 billion a week ago, on net assets of $105.84 billion. Grayscale's Zcash fund posted its own first losing week earlier this autumn.

Prices give no clean read either. The Block put ether near $2,506 on Saturday morning, Crypto Briefing near $2,491 on Friday and down more than 7% on the week, with no common snapshot between them. Solana sat about $110.50 and bitcoin near $82,900. Whether Friday's small bitcoin inflow is the turn or a pause is the only thing next week settles.
