Apple Music and Apple TV Apps to Launch in Beta for Windows 11

Last year, Microsoft announced that Apple Music and Apple TV apps would become available for Windows, and now the company has finally delivered. These apps have been optimized for the operating system and come with several interface tweaks for enhanced usability.

The Apple TV app allows users to stream their favorite Apple TV+ content, Apple TV channels, and iTunes Store offerings in 4K HDR (if their device supports it). Apple TV+ includes original content as well as content from Paramount+, AMC+, Showtime, Starz, and more. Until now, Windows users could only access Apple content through a web browser.

Music lovers can now enjoy their playlists in the new Apple Music app, which comes with the same features as on macOS, except for Dolby Atmos support and lyrics display. Any content from iTunes will automatically migrate to the new app.

The iTunes app will be replaced by the new Apple Devices app for Windows, which allows users to sync, back up, and restore iOS and iPod devices via PC. Apple has also announced that a new version of iTunes for Windows will be released in the future, with support for audiobooks and podcasts, which are currently unavailable in the Apple Music app.

It’s worth noting that when you install and run any of these new apps, you’ll receive a notification that iTunes for Windows has been paused. To return to using iTunes, simply uninstall the new apps. Additionally, as these applications are still in beta, some issues may arise.
