Elon Musk Confirms Kanye West’s Twitter Account Suspension for Rule Violations

Elon Musk announced that Kanye West’s Twitter account would be suspended following the rapper’s posting of anti-Semitic tweets, which violated the platform’s rules. Musk clarified that Ye’s (Kanye West’s legal name) account was suspended for “incitement to violence” rather than for sharing an “unflattering” photo of the Tesla CEO.

“Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not for posting an unflattering pic of me being hosed by Ari [Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel]. Frankly, I found those photos to be helpful motivation to lose weight!” – Elon Musk (@elonmusk), December 2, 2022.

Earlier, West had posted an image on Twitter featuring a Nazi swastika merged with the Star of David. Shortly after, he stated on Truth Social that his Twitter profile had been temporarily suspended.

Musk later elaborated that he had made significant efforts to encourage Kanye West to comply with Twitter’s rules. However, the rapper continued posting content that violated the platform’s policies against incitement to violence, leading to the account suspension.

“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.” – Elon Musk (@elonmusk), December 2, 2022.

This is not West’s first Twitter violation. In October, his account was temporarily restricted for posting anti-Semitic content. However, it seems he did not learn from the incident.
