“Kinopoisk” took the leading position among Russian online movie theaters in 2021 in terms of the number of subscribers, according to international research company GfK.
The top three most well-known online movie theaters in the ranking were “Kinopoisk,” ivi, and Okko.
According to a survey conducted among Russians aged 16 to 55, with 7,500 participants, the number of subscribers increased across all online movie theaters in 2021. By the end of the fourth quarter, 44% of the respondents used online movie theater subscriptions, with 28% having a paid subscription.
“Kinopoisk” took the top spot in terms of subscribers, with the number of subscribers growing from 8.8% to 14.4% over the year. The number of paid subscribers also increased from 4.8% to 9.3%. Additionally, the number of ivi subscribers grew from 9.7% to 11.2%, though only 6% of users had a paid subscription.
