GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in Japan Turns Out to Be More Expensive Than the Most Popular Electric Car in China

Even before its release, the price of Nvidia’s new flagship graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, came as an unpleasant surprise. In Vietnam, the announced price was $3840, while the price of the MSI GeForce 3090 Ti Suprim X 24G in Japan was 633,733 yen, which is approximately $5520, setting a price record for the country of the rising sun.

This is not just expensive, it’s extremely expensive! For comparison, the most popular electric car in China, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, in its basic configuration, costs only $4500. Although it’s a small car with a range of just 120 km, it is still a fully functional vehicle. When comparing the retail price of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in Japan with Nvidia’s official prices, it is 3.5 times higher.

At first glance, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is undoubtedly very expensive, but according to some sources, the sales of this model are not intended for mass retail. The graphics card is designed for setting various records and demonstrating unique feats. The release date of the card is unknown, as internal testing revealed issues with the memory, causing the launch of this model to be delayed.
