🔶Ethereum has grown 70% over the past year but remains the weakest performer among the top 10 cryptocurrencies. Its current price is $3,850, 20% below its 2021 peak of $4,900. Experts attribute its modest returns to competition with Bitcoin as a store of value and Solana as a platform for smart contracts.
🔶However, ETH staking could attract institutional investors, particularly with the arrival of a new U.S. administration. Ruslan Lienkha, Head of Markets at YouHodler, believes that a clear regulatory framework for staking will pave the way for its mass adoption.
🔶The SEC may differentiate between staking and governance aspects of Ethereum, potentially regulating the latter as securities. Despite these uncertainties, Ethereum-based funds have recorded a historic inflow of capital, exceeding $14 billion.
