Vitalik Buterin Proposes Adding a Separate Gas Type

Vitalik Buterin has introduced EIP-7706, a proposal aimed at adding a separate gas type specifically for call data in transactions. This change would unify three gas types into a single system.

The proposal also includes a new transaction type featuring three kinds of maximum base fees. These updates could enhance the accessibility of call data.

Buterin also shared his view on Layer 3 solutions, expressing skepticism about their ability to improve Ethereum’s throughput.
