Russia Tightens Mining Regulations

🔴The Russian Ministry of Energy plans to hold regular meetings on mining regulation. The Bitcoin mining ban in 10 regions, effective January 1, 2025, has reduced the energy load on Siberia’s power grid by 300 MW, helping prevent electricity shortages.

🔴Rosseti reported over 1.3 billion rubles in losses from illegal mining, with the largest underground farm in Novosibirsk causing 197 million rubles in damages. The company proposes taking control over mining center locations to balance the energy system.
