Whale Alert Telegram Bot: How to Get Whale Moves in Your Chat

A whale alert Telegram bot is a small program that watches public blockchain data and sends you a message when a large transfer happens. You start a chat with it, tell it what counts as large - say any Bitcoin move above 500 BTC, or any activity from one address you choose - and it posts each matching transaction into the chat as it confirms. Whale Alert runs the best-known public feed; wallet-tracking bots like Cielo do the narrower job of following addresses you pick.

How do you set one up?

Open Telegram, search for the bot by its exact name, press Start, and follow its menu. A broadcast feed needs nothing from you - you just subscribe to the channel. A wallet tracker asks for the addresses to watch, the chains they are on, and a size threshold so your phone is not buzzing at every ten-dollar transfer. You can find addresses worth watching on a block explorer first; tracking whale movements covers where to look.

What a bot must never ask you for

A tracking bot reads public data. It therefore has no reason to ask you to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, approve a token, or type a seed phrase - and any bot that does is trying to empty your wallet, not fill your chat. This is the most common scam in the category, and it works because the request arrives wrapped in something useful. Treat the bot like a radio: it receives, you never transmit back.

Are the alerts worth having?

As a habit, yes. As a trading signal, rarely. The message reaches you after the transaction has already confirmed on chain and after every other subscriber, so nobody is getting an edge from it. What it is genuinely good for is noticing: a dormant Ethereum wallet waking up, or a long run of transfers in one direction that you would never have spotted by checking manually.

Set your threshold high on the first day. Almost everyone starts with alerts too sensitive, mutes the chat within a week, and then misses the one that mattered.
