How Do I Recover My BEP-20 Tokens Sent to a Non-BSC Compatible Wallet?

If you sent BEP-20 tokens to a wallet that does not support BNB Smart Chain, start by working out who holds the keys to that address. Your own wallet means a quick fix: import the key somewhere that supports the chain and the tokens appear. An exchange account or a custodial app means you hold nothing but a username, and recovery depends entirely on that company's policy.

How do I tell which situation I am in?

Ask one question: were you ever shown a recovery phrase for that address? If yes - MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Ledger, Phantom - the address is yours in the only sense that matters, and no permission is needed from anyone. If you simply logged in with an email and password, the address belongs to the platform and is merely assigned to you. That is the difference between owning the key to a flat and renting a locker from a company.

The address is mine

Import the recovery phrase or private key into MetaMask or Trust Wallet, switch the network to BNB Smart Chain, and add the token by its contract address if it does not show automatically. Fund the address with a small amount of BNB for fees and send the tokens out. Nothing about this touches the receiving app, which can keep running untouched.

The address belongs to an exchange

Open a support ticket straight away and keep it factual: the transaction hash, the sending and receiving addresses, the token, the exact network used, and the time. Large exchanges run a recovery process for deposits that arrived on an unsupported network, sometimes for a fee, usually with a minimum value and a wait measured in weeks. Smaller platforms often say no, and that answer is final - they cannot sign for an address their system does not manage. One ticket, politely followed up, is the whole of your leverage here; repeated tickets do not speed it up.

While you wait, resist anyone who contacts you offering recovery - support teams never message first, and nobody who asks for a recovery phrase is helping. Next: recovering from a wallet that cannot see BSC and wrong chain and wrong address, step by step.
