Hackers Increase Pressure on DeFi

⬛In September, hackers carried out 20 major attacks on crypto projects, according to data from PeckShield. The hardest hit was UXLINK, which lost $44 million, followed by SwissBorg with $41.5 million in damages, and a Venus protocol client, which lost $13.5 million but managed to recover nearly all of it. The top five incidents also included Yala and GriffAI.

⬛Overall monthly losses fell by 22% compared to August, when damages reached $163 million. Experts note that cybercriminals are increasingly targeting DeFi platforms due to their deep liquidity. Despite rising awareness of cybersecurity, even small code vulnerabilities can cost millions. Regular audits and independent security reviews remain the most effective line of defense.
