DeFi in the Crosshairs of Hackers

🟦According to a new report by Halborn, losses from attacks on DeFi protocols from 2014 to 2024 exceeded $10.7 billion, with Ethereum being the most vulnerable network — accounting for over one-third of all incidents. Although the average damage per hack has decreased, the number of attacks continues to rise, underlining the persistent fragility of the sector.
🟦Key issues include the lack of code audits, poor protection of external interactions, and neglect of tools such as multisig wallets and cold storage. The leading cause of vulnerabilities remains improper data verification, which is frequently exploited in smart contract hacks.
