🟦Ripple has announced a major upgrade to the XRP Ledger, integrating smart contracts and opening the ecosystem to interaction with both DeFi and traditional finance. The new architecture will enable automatic cryptocurrency conversion during transfers, while debt tokenization will create conditions for off-chain participants to monitor obligation fulfillment.
🟦Plans also include launching a credit protocol and a series of strategic acquisitions. According to Ripple CTO David Schwartz, these changes will strengthen the company’s position and lay the groundwork for attracting new investors to the XRP ecosystem.
