Institutional Bitcoin Concentration

🟨Large institutional players continue to strengthen their grip on the Bitcoin market. According to Glassnode, public companies, governments, ETFs, and exchanges now control nearly 30% of the total BTC supply — a record 5.94 million coins. Public companies are leading the trend, holding over 1 million BTC on their balance sheets, reflecting growing confidence in Bitcoin as a strategic, long-term store of value.

🟨Exchanges and ETF issuers also play a critical role, collectively holding more than 4 million BTC. Funds managed by BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale have become key channels for institutional demand. Meanwhile, governments — including the United States and China — control approximately 600,000 BTC, further amplifying the influence of macro-level actors on Bitcoin’s limited supply and long-term price dynamics.
