Energy as Currency

🟧Elon Musk describes Bitcoin as a “fundamental physical currency” whose value is rooted in the energy required to produce it. In a conversation with blogger Nikhil Kamath, he emphasized that Proof-of-Work depends on substantial computational power and electricity, making the cryptocurrency resistant to political interference: governments can adjust monetary supply, but they cannot “print” energy.

🟧Musk linked this idea to the Kardashev scale, which measures a civilization’s technological advancement by its ability to harness energy. He suggested that progress in AI and robotics could eventually render traditional money obsolete, while Bitcoin’s scarcity and energy intensity would preserve its long-term relevance.
