McDonald’s and Bitcoin: Proposal Rejected

🔴McDonald’s has rejected a shareholder proposal to invest in Bitcoin, with support from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The initiative came from the National Center for Public Policy Research, which argued that cryptocurrency offers more liquidity and growth potential than real estate—traditionally McDonald’s core asset.

🔴McDonald’s legal team requested SEC approval to exclude the proposal from the agenda of the annual shareholders’ meeting. The regulator agreed, deeming the suggestion part of the company’s ordinary business operations and not subject to mandatory shareholder vote.
