Researchers at IntoTheBlock have identified a pattern in the behavior of Bitcoin’s long-term holders. Long-term Bitcoin holders tend to sell their assets at the beginning of a bull trend, continuing until the cycle’s peak and beyond. According to on-chain data, holders began taking profits from BTC in January and accelerated their sales in late March.
“While this trend may initially seem concerning, it has become a natural part of Bitcoin’s historical market cycles. It’s important to note that compared to previous phases, there is still ample time for future growth,” the experts emphasized.
In a bull market, hodlers play a crucial role: they are reluctant to sell their Bitcoin even during price corrections. This supports high BTC prices and limits the extent of price declines. Additionally, hodlers contribute to market liquidity, creating a more stable environment for trading.
