Researchers at IntoTheBlock have identified a pattern in the behavior of long-term Bitcoin holders. Long-term holders of Bitcoin tend to start selling their assets at the beginning of a bull market and continue selling until the peak of the cycle and beyond. According to on-chain data, holders began realizing profits from BTC in January and accelerated their selling pace by the end of March.
“Although this trend may seem concerning at first, it has become a natural part of Bitcoin’s historical market cycles. It’s important to note that, compared to previous cycles, there is still plenty of time left for future growth,” experts emphasized.
During a bull market, hodlers play a crucial role: they are in no rush to sell their Bitcoins, even when the price corrects. This helps maintain a high BTC price and limits declines. Hodlers also support market liquidity, which creates a more stable trading environment.
