Twitter CEO Elon Musk plans to eliminate microblogging, promising to increase the character limit. This time, the proposed increase is from 280 to 4000 characters.
The announcement about Musk’s plans for Twitter came through his own account on December 10. In response to a user’s question asking whether Twitter would increase the character limit from 280 to 4000, Musk replied with just one word: “Yes.”
This is not the first time the billionaire has stated that Twitter will increase the character limit. In November, Musk responded to a similar query on Twitter, saying that expanding the character limit was “on the to-do list.”
Regardless of the exact number, it seems likely that Twitter will see a significant increase in character limits in the future.
Although many were skeptical when Twitter increased the character limit to 280 at the time, users eventually adapted to the new standard. However, multiplying the character limit could fundamentally change Twitter as a microblogging platform.
