Global media gathered at the Skydive Dubai sports club in the UAE to witness the first public flight demonstration of the Xpeng X2.
The vehicle, reminiscent of a futuristic car from Back to the Future, was unveiled in Dubai during the GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition), with its test flight becoming the highlight of the event.
The Xpeng X2 is touted as the world’s first two-seater electric flying car, developed by the independent Chinese company Xpeng Aeroht. Equipped with eight propellers, it is an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft), meaning it does not require a runway and can be used for urban flights. The Xpeng X2 is equipped with an AI-powered system that enables autonomous flight.
The body of the Xpeng X2 is made from lightweight carbon fiber, offering a payload capacity of 220 kg. It is designed for flights at altitudes of up to 1,000 meters and can cover a distance of approximately 35 km at a maximum speed of 130 km/h. Being fully electric, the vehicle produces zero carbon emissions, which is a significant advantage from an environmental standpoint.
