Bitcoin ETFs Close the Week $6.2 Million Up After a $433M Friday

The US spot bitcoin funds finished the week of 14 September $6.2 million ahead. That is the residue of five sessions that moved about $1.5 billion in opposite directions. Tuesday took out $450.3 million and Wednesday another $296 million; Friday put back $433 million and turned a losing week into a barely positive one. Ether funds went the other way, shedding $140 million across the same five days and ending four consecutive weeks of inflows. The Block published the tally on Saturday afternoon from SoSoValue data, and 24/7 Wall St. arrived at the same weekly figure from the same source.

Friday did all the work

Fidelity's FBTC took $310.7 million of Friday's $433 million and BlackRock's IBIT $108.4 million. Bitwise's BITB added $9.7 million, a figure only one account carries. Over the full week the order reverses. IBIT finished up $120.7 million, FBTC up $79.9 million, and every other bitcoin fund combined down about $194.4 million. Bitcoin traded back above $80,000 during the session. Weekly volume in the bitcoin funds ran at $16.17 billion against $8.77 billion the week before, so the money that stayed put was not sitting quietly.

Quietest week on record, on one account

24/7 Wall St., working from the same SoSoValue numbers, calls $6.2 million the smallest weekly net inflow in the 141 weeks since the funds opened on 11 January 2024. No other outlet read here makes that claim. The Block describes the identical figure as a second consecutive negative week narrowly avoided, and asserts no record of any kind. Both descriptions fit $6.21 million. The record reading has one source and is treated here as one account's.

"Incredible intestinal fortitude from the Boomers given they saw a 50% drawdown," Eric Balchunas, the Bloomberg ETF analyst, said of the investors who held through the week.

He added that rising stock prices may have helped them sit still.

Ether's streak breaks

Spot ether funds lost $140 million over the week, their first negative week in five. Three consecutive losing sessions between Tuesday and Thursday drained $404.8 million, and Friday's $143.8 million did not cover the hole. BlackRock's ETHA finished the week down $56.1 million and Fidelity's FETH down $25.8 million. Crypto Briefing, reporting Friday on its own, puts ETHA at $114 million in and FETH at $26 million in on the day. No outlet read here breaks the midweek ether outflows out by fund, so the daily and weekly readings for ETHA cannot be squared from what is published.

Solana's twelfth week, counted two ways

The week's other disagreement sits in the Solana funds. 24/7 Wall St. counts a twelfth consecutive week of inflows at $13.2 million net, listing $11.01 million on Monday, $1.35 million on Tuesday, about $837,000 on Wednesday and nothing on Thursday. It gives no Friday figure. news.bitcoin.com says Solana products drew $47.62 million on Friday alone. Add that to the four days and the week comes to roughly $60 million, not $13.2 million. The two totals do not reconcile, and we could not establish which window each one is measuring.

A year still in deficit

Net assets in the bitcoin funds stood at $102.53 billion on Friday, on cumulative inflows of $55.16 billion since launch. For 2026 so far the funds are about $1.45 billion in net outflows. Ether funds hold $16.72 billion and are roughly $922 million up on the year. Zcash products, which set a 3-for-1 share split for 30 September, took $37.67 million on Friday on one account's figure. This desk recorded a fourth straight day of bitcoin outflows on 13 September, before the Fed met. Nothing published on Saturday says what the coming sessions do, and a week that swung $1.5 billion to land on $6 million is not a direction.
