🟦A British scammer operating under the pseudonym Ape 31 has defrauded approximately 250 crypto investors over the past year, stealing more than $650,000. This was reported by crypto analyst ZachXBT.
🟦The expert described the fraud scheme, in which the perpetrator posted fake screenshots of profits from cryptocurrency futures trading, then created a news account to convince victims to use his paid services. In reality, he extracted as much money as possible and then blocked the victims.
🟦The expert also provided several specific examples of fraud. One victim sent the scammer $500 for copy trading, after which he requested an additional $20,000 for trading. Ape 31 then gave the victim an API key for “monitoring” trades, which were, in fact, fake.
