🟥The US Supreme Court has approved the sale of 69,370 bitcoins seized from the hacker who compromised the closed darknet marketplace Silk Road. In 2022, a US district court issued a ruling instructing the US authorities to dispose of the confiscated BTC.
🟥Lawyers from Battle Born Investments claimed the right to manage the digital assets as part of a bankruptcy case following the shutdown of Silk Road in 2013. However, the Supreme Court rejected the appeal from Battle Born Investments and authorized the sale of the bitcoins. The identity of the hacker who stole the digital assets from the marketplace’s wallet remains unknown.
