Sber’s Attitude Towards Cryptocurrencies

🟪One of Russia’s largest banks, Sber, takes a cautious approach to cryptocurrencies, not completely banning them. The bank participates in pilot projects aimed at tracking and verifying crypto transactions, as they may be linked to money laundering and shadow schemes.

🟪Russian legislation does not prohibit individuals and entrepreneurs from conducting transactions with crypto assets, but they must provide documentation to confirm the legality of the transactions. Since March 2023, Sber has increased its control over crypto operations, leading to mass card blocks for users involved in transactions with digital assets.

🟪Additionally, Sber uses the “Transparent Blockchain” platform developed by Rosfinmonitoring. This platform allows the tracking of illegal tokens and cross-referencing them with fiat transactions.
